Walking is an easy, safe, inexpensive, and healthy way to improve your lifestyle. Walking an hour a day is associated with cutting your risk of heart disease, breast cancer, colon cancer, diabetes and stroke. It's also a great stress reliever. Walking with a friend or family member or listening to music can make walking more enjoyable. Some shopping malls open their doors early for walkers, which is great for inclement weather. To keep motivated, set a goal and keep a weekly log of your time or distance.
